ELIGIBILITY: Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are age 13 or older and located in the U.S. or Canada at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, directors and officers of VIZ Media, LLC ("Sponsor"), its subsidiaries, distributors, and the advertising, fulfillment, judging and promotion agencies involved in the administration, development, promotion and execution of this Sweepstakes (collectively, "Sweepstakes Parties"), and their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling and spouse of each) and those living in the same households of each are not eligible.

TO ENTER: Beginning 12:00:01 a.m. P.T. 05/16/06, pick up the June issue of Shojo Beat to find the contest URL. Log on to that location and follow on-screen directions to enter the contest. Mail your entry through regular mail or electronically by 11:59:59 p.m. P.T. 06/15/06. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON, HOUSEHOLD, AND/OR E-MAIL ADDRESS PER DAY OF THE PROMOTIONAL PERIOD, PROVIDED THAT EACH ENTRY IS SUBSTANTIALLY DIFFERENT. MULTIPLE ENTRIES DISCOVERED IN VIOLATION OF THIS PROVISION WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. Contest Parties assume no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, stolen, mutilated, illegible, undelivered, garbled, damaged, incomplete entries, postage due mail or submissions, or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur. Contest Parties also assume no responsibility for any technical problems in connection with transmission or receipt of online entries including faulty electronic data transmission, traffic congestion on the Internet or on the web site, hardware or software error, equipment failure or malfunction, or other online communications problems. All entrants must have a valid email address. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an Entry, entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of Entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet Access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. All Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned to entrant. Automated entries (including but not limited to entries made using any script, macro, bot, or Contest service) and facsimiles are not allowed. Potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning Entry.

WINNER SELECTION: Sponsor will select winners from all eligible entries received on or about 06/30/06 in San Francisco, California. Contest submissions will be judged by a qualified panel of judges whose decisions are final. Each submission shall be judged equally based upon the following criteria: originality, appropriateness to theme, creativity and suitability of publication by Sponsor. In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken based upon the highest score in the first judging criteria, continuing thereafter to each judging criteria in order (1-4), as needed, to break the tie. Becoming a Winner is subject to validation and verification of eligibility and compliance with all terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules. Submission of an Entry grants Sponsor and its agents the right to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify such Entry in any way, in any and all media, without limitation, and without consideration to the entrant, whether or not such submission is selected as a winning Entry. Submission of any Entry further constitutes the entrant's consent to irrevocably assign and transfer to the Sponsor any and all rights, title and interest in Entry, including, without limitation, all copyrights and waive all moral rights in Entry. Winner will be notified by certified postal mail or e-mail. If any prize correspondence (including e-mail) is returned as non-deliverable, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. Winner (or winner's parent or legal guardian, if winner is a minor in his/her state of residence) may be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit/Declaration of Eligibility/Liability Release and Assignment of Copyright, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release within fourteen (14) days of attempted notification or prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.

Two (2) GRAND PRIZES: Trip for two (2) including; round-trip coach air transportation for two (2) from a major airport nearest the winner's home within the U.S. to San Francisco, California between 07/05/06 and 07/07/06 (airport, carrier and airline ticket class selected at the sole discretion of Sponsor), one (1) double occupancy standard hotel accommodation for 2 days/ 1 night (accommodation to be selected at the sole discretion of Sponsor), an autograph of Hyde, plus two tickets to the HYDE LIVE concert in San Francisco, California on 07/05/06. If selected entrant resides within 150 miles of the destination, ground transportation may be substituted for air transportation at Sponsors' sole discretion. All other expenses not specifically mentioned herein, including additional ground transportation, meals, gratuities, travel documents, tax, personal expenses and all other expenses not specified herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. Travel must take place on the dates designated by Sponsor or prize is forfeited. No responsibility is assumed by Sponsors for cancelled, delayed, suspended or rescheduled events after ticketing of prize for any reason whatsoever beyond its control. Transportation and accommodations subject to availability, blackout periods, government restrictions and regulations, hotel, airline, airport or other transportation restrictions and regulations. Other restrictions may apply. Winner must have all necessary identification and/or travel documents (e.g. driver's license, valid state I.D. or a valid U.S. passport, as applicable) required for travel. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $1,000.00 USD, depending on winner's point of departure and airfare fluctuations. Any difference between stated approximate value and actual value of prize will not be awarded. If winner's guest is a minor he/she must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian who must sign and return all required documentation. Guests and winners must sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability/publicity prior to ticketing of prize.
All expenses not specifically set forth herein are winner's sole responsibility. No substitution, cash redemption or transfer of prize is permitted except at Sponsor's sole discretion. If prize, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize with another prize of equal or greater value. Any portion of the prize not accepted by winner shall be forfeited.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: Prize will be awarded only to an address within the United States. Winner is solely responsible for any taxes on Prize. If prize is $600 or more and winner is a legal U.S. resident, winner (or winner's parent or legal guardian if winner is a minor) will receive an IRS Form 1099 for the approximate retail value of the prize. By participating, entrants (and their parent(s)/legal guardian(s) if entrants are minors) agree to these Official Rules, and to the Sponsor's decisions, which are final and binding in all respects. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who is responsible or who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, modify or terminate the Contest and select the winner from all eligible entries received prior to the cancellation or termination. This Contest is offered only in the United States and is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflicts of laws principles and all claims must be resolved in the federal or state courts of San Francisco, California.

REPRESENTATIONS: By participating in the Contest, the Entrant (or their parent or legal guardian if a minor in their state of residence) represents and warrants as follows: (i) Entrant has the full right and legal capacity to participate and is not a party to any agreement that would condition or restrict Entrant's ability to participate; (ii) Entrant is the sole and exclusive owner of the Entry; (iii) Entrant(s) has the right and power to perform his or her obligations as set forth in this document and to grant rights herein contained; (iv) Entrant has obtained all the necessary clearances, including, but not limited to copyright clearances, necessary for Sponsor to copy, display, broadcast, publicly perform or distribute the Entry online during the Promotional Period and thereafter without any financial obligation; (v) the rights granted to Sponsor via these Official Rules, including public display, public performance, distribution, and reproduction of Entry, will not violate or infringe upon the copyright, literary, privacy, publicity, trademark, service mark or any other personal property right of any person or entity and Entry will not constitute a defamation of any third party; (vi) the Entry is wholly original with Entrant and as of the date of submission, is not the subject of any actual or threatened litigation or claim; (vii) the Entry does not and will not violate any applicable laws, and is not and will not be defamatory, pornographic, or obscene; (viii) Each Entrant(s) (or their parent or legal guardian if a minor in their state of residence) hereby agrees to indemnify, defend and hold the Contest Parties harmless from and against any and all third party claims, actions or proceedings of any kind and from any and all damages, liabilities, costs and expenses relating to or arising out of any breach or alleged breach of any of the warranties, representations or agreements of Entrant hereunder.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND RELEASE: By accepting the prize, winner (and winner's parent or legal guardian if winner is a minor) agree that the Contest Parties, participating retailers, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by winner against, any liability for injuries, losses or damages of any kind to persons or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Contest; from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize; from participation in any prize-related activity or any travel related thereto or from the use by Sponsor or anyone authorized by it of the Entry. Except where prohibited by law, winner (and winner's parent or legal guardian if winner is a minor) grant (and agree to confirm this grant in writing, if requested) permission for Sponsor and those acting under its authority to use his/her name, photograph, voice and/or likeness, and Entry, for advertising and/or publicity purposes in any and all media now known or hereinafter invented without territorial or time limitations and without additional compensation.
